9:04 p.m. PT That's the game and Auburn finishes the season at 12-2. What an incredible ride it has been Tiger fans and you were with us every step of the way. Thank you for your incredible support and, as always, War Eagle! 9:02 p.m. PT The offense has nine seconds left in the game and will work from its own 17. 8:59 p.m. PT Jameis Winston finds his receiver in the end zone and the Seminoles go up 34-31 with just 13 seconds left on the clock. 8:50 p.m. PT With that run, Tre Mason passes Bo Jackson for most rushing yards in a season. Jackson had 1,786 and Mason now has 1,816. 8:48 p.m. PT Holy smokes, Tre Mason goes the distance for the touchdown and Auburn's back up 31-27. DEFENSE, AUBURN, DEFENSE! 1:19 left in the game. 8:44 p.m. PT Here comes the Auburn offense. Keep driving! 2:50 remaining in the game... 8:39 p.m. PT Perhaps it's fitting that Florida State goes the distance on the kickoff for the go-ahead touchdown. It's FSU 27, Auburn 24. First time since 3-0 in the first quarter AU has trailed. The Tigers have 4:31 remaining in the game. 8:36 p.m. PT Nick Marshall and the offense methodically move the ball down to the FSU 6 but a shot to the end zone falls to the ground and Auburn settles for a field goal. It's 24-21 Tigers with 4:42 left in the game. A crystal football hangs in the balance. High drama in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl. We believe! 8:22 p.m. PT Florida State puts together a big drive here in the fourth quarter and cuts Auburn's lead to just one. Auburn 21, Florida State 20. Just 10:55 left. Tiger fans have seen plenty of fourth quarter dramatics this season. Let's go Auburn! 8:12 p.m. PT We go to the fourth quarter with Auburn maintaining an eight-point lead. The Florida State offense will have to drive into the heart of this Auburn crowd. At lulls in the game, the crowd erupts into a chant: "It's great to be an Auburn Tiger!" What a scene here on the final night of college football this season. 8:07 p.m. PT Steven Clark and the Auburn special teams have played an outstanding game pinning Jameis Winston and the Florida State offense deep. There have been some shaky fielding of punts to cause Tiger fans angst but Auburn has managed to hang into the ball. Otherwise, special teams playing lights out. 8:02 p.m. PT Great sideline shot there from ESPN of Jeff Whitaker hugging senior Dee Ford after his sack of Jameis Winston to snuff out FSU's latest drive. 7:58 p.m. PT Florida State has certainly slowed Auburn's momentum here in the later stages of the third quarter. After a field goal, FSU narrows Auburn's lead to 21-13. Auburn's crowd continues to roar, urging on the defense. 7:44 p.m. PT Some commentary prior to the game questioned how Florida State would handle a close game after storming through its 2013 schedule. We're about to find out. Not sure many experts expected Auburn to be up by 11 at the midway point of the third quarter. Tight games have been a staple for AU this season. 7:31 p.m. PT Considering that the field was installed after the Rose Bowl game back on January 1, it's in incredible shape after the first half. In fact, it barely looks like it's been played on. Great job by the field crew here at the Rose Bowl. 7:08 p.m. PT That's halftime. The teams head for their locker rooms with the Tigers up 21-10 on No. 1 Florida State. Encouraging first half for Auburn. Let's see the adjustments both teams make. We'd take more of the same from the Tigers. 7:01 p.m. PT Florida State's Jimbo Fisher calls for the fake punt, the Seminoles convert and march down the field for their first TD. Auburn 21, Florida State 10. 6:49 p.m. PT Nick Marshall rolls to his left and goes four yards for Auburn's third touchdown of the night after the fumble by Jameis Winston. AU 21, FSU 3. 6:38 p.m. PT Auburn's defense gets in on the highlights as Angelo Blackson strips Jameis Winston of the ball and Anthony Swain recovers at FSU's 27: 6:25 p.m. PT Are you feeling it Auburn Family? Nick Marshall hits a wide-open Melvin Ray for a 50-yard touchdown. Auburn goes up 14-3. Strike up the band! 6:04 p.m. PT Steven Clark's punt flips the field and Auburn cashes in as Tre Mason takes a pass from Nick Marshall into the end zone for the game's first touchdown: 5:53 p.m. PT We take you in front of the Auburn tunnel to watch the Tigers storm the field for the VIZIO BCS National Championship Game just moments ago: 5:44 p.m. PT Good to see Auburn's defense stiffen in the red zone, sack Jameis Winston and force Florida State to settle for the field goal. FSU 3, Auburn 0. 5:32 p.m. PT Florida State has won the toss and deferred. Auburn will be on offense to get things started. 5:29 p.m. PT The time has come! The sun has set behind the California mountains, the lights are on and your Auburn Tigers have taken the field to play for a national title. 5:22 p.m. PT To not surprise Florida State alum, Lee Corso, just chose FSU to win the game. I'd say Auburn has played well as the underdog all season, wouldn't you? 5:14 p.m. PT Both bands are taking their turns in front of a packed out Rose Bowl. Auburn just finished their performance while Florida State waits in their end zone for their chance. 4:56 p.m. PT You may have heard that the field was replaced with new sod for tonight's game. The sod was installed only days ago. Below you can see the layers from where they placed the sod on top of the previous turf. It will be interesting to see how the field holds up throughout tonight's game. 4:47 p.m. PT It's alway interesting to see how different teams conduct their pregame warm-ups. One thing's for certain, Auburn has not altered their routine in any way. 4:39 p.m. PT The rest of the team just entered the field for pregame warm-ups to a loud ovation. There's a significant Auburn presence here, hard to estimate percentages just yet. 4:35 p.m. PT Auburn is in their all-white uniforms. White jerseys, white pants, white cleats and white undershirts. There's no doubt we have some of the best uniforms in college football. 4:08 p.m. PT The gates are open at the Rose Bowl and, if early arrivers are any indication, Auburn fans will outnumber the Florida State fans for the VIZIO BCS National Championship Game. Both schools received the same number of official tickets but it appears Tiger fans have scooped up tickets in other sections. No better demonstration to the nation of support by Tiger fans. 3:49 p.m. PT Did you catch the sea of Auburn fans for Tiger Walk on the ESPN broadcast? What an amazing sight. It doesn't do it justice but here's a pic from TV. The team buses stopped short of the gates and the Tigers came out to high-five and fire up the crowd. How could you not be pumped now? 3:37 p.m. PT Since we're here in California, we're using local Pacific Time as our marker in our live blog. The game kicks at exactly 5:38 p.m. here at the stadium, 7:38 p.m. CT back in Auburn. ESPN has a myriad of options to watch the game. 2:46 p.m. PT If you missed any of our bowl week coverage, Auburn's players and coaches expressed a desire to speak directly to the Auburn Family. We filmed short video clips we posted on our Championship Central and on Facebook. 2:37 p.m. PT Go into Auburn's locker room, on the field and out the Rose Bowl gates prior to kickoff in our live Facebook gallery from Pasadena: 12:28 p.m. PT Good afternoon and War Eagle Auburn fans! We're live from the press box high above the field at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Gorgeous weather -- clear with temps in the upper 70s. We'll head down to the field and the locker room shortly to bring you photos. Thank you for joining us. #AllforAuburn |
