AUBURN, Ala. – The preseason accolades continued for Auburn on Thursday as senior wide receiver Ryan Davis was named to the 2018 Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list.

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the outstanding FBS receiver in college football. Any player, regardless of position, who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.

Davis set the Auburn single-season record last fall with 84 receptions. That number was also tops in the SEC for 2017 and No. 10 nationally. He finished the season with 815 yards receiving and five touchdowns, including an 11-catch, 139-yard performance against No. 1 Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

"I love Ryan," Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham said after that game. "He's a great person, great football player. He seems to get open a lot. I like throwing it to open people, and he's just always open. He's a hard worker. I'm just trying to get him the ball."

Davis, now a senior, is expected to once again be a major part of the offense.

Ten semifinalists for the 2018 Biletnikoff Award will be named Nov. 12. From there, three finalists will be chosen Nov. 20. And the winner will be presented live on Dec. 6 during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show.
