AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn men's basketball team will play a home-and-home series against Washington with the first matchup set to take place during the 2018-19 season.

The Tigers will host the Huskies at Auburn Arena Nov. 9, 2018, before traveling to Seattle, Wash. at Alaska Airlines Arena at a date to be determined in 2019.

"We have worked so hard to create an environment that is worthy of Power-5 conference teams being willing to come to Auburn," head coach Bruce Pearl said. "Auburn Arena has as good of an environment as there is in college basketball right now. For Coach [Mike] Hopkins and Washington out of the Pac-12 to be willing to get into a home-and-home series with us is huge.

"I've known Mike for years. He was the coach-in-waiting at Syracuse for the last dozen years. Who knew that Coach [Jim] Boeheim was going to coach as long as he's coached? I'm just so happy for Mike to get the opportunity at Washington. He has already turned that program into a top-25 program."

Auburn has squared off with Washington only one time in program history. The Tigers fell to the Huskies, 59-29, during the 1947-48 campaign.

Auburn has picked up four wins against teams from the currently constructed Pac-12 Conference in its history after defeating the likes of Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State and Utah.

The non-conference schedule also includes a trip to NC State on Dec. 19. In addition, the Tigers are set to take part in the 2018 Maui Invitational for the first time in program history. Auburn opens the prestigious tournament against Xavier on Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and the Auburn Sports Network.
