Coming off her best season and one of the best performances in Auburn history, Caitlin Boyle is looking forward to her final year on the Plains as one of the leaders for the reigning national champion equestrian team.

In 2017-18, the Hampshire, Ill., product tied her own single season record with 16 wins in Equitation Over Fences and finished 16-4-1 in both Fences and Flat. In addition, her 32 wins led all student-athletes this past year.

Boyle is a rising senior with lofty goals for her team for 2018-19. But before competition begins, she is taking two online classes this summer and is enjoying a more relaxed semester before her senior season.

Q: What have you been doing since your team won the national title in April?
A: We've been taking some time off, practicing a little bit, but our practices have not been as intense as they are during the season.

Q: What made you want to come to Auburn?
A: This was the first school that I came to on a visit and I just had a feeling that when I was here, that I was going to come to school here. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, I truly felt like it was my home away from home.

Q: What are your summer plans?
A: This is my first summer staying in Auburn so I really don't have any big summer plans. I am taking two online classes and I am also going to help with the camps that we have.

Q: What are you most looking forward to about your senior season?
A: I really don't want to look forward to my senior season because it is sad that my collegiate career is close to being done. However, it is exciting to be the leaders on the team and help the incoming freshmen and show them how putting in hard work will pay off.

Q: Do you have any goals for your senior season?
A: Ultimately, our end goal is to win two rings by the end of the year as we did our freshman year. We are really just trying to end the way that we started.

Q: What has been your favorite memory at Auburn so far?
A: My favorite memory at Auburn would probably have to be winning nationals this past year. It was so exciting and special because we had just lost SECs to Georgia, and it was shocking for all of us because we had such a dominating roster. This is my favorite memory because I was able to win the point that clinched the win over Georgia for the national championship and that is something I will remember forever.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to incoming freshmen?
A: I would tell freshmen to keep their heads down and keep working hard. Take everything very seriously, but don't forget to enjoy the time that you have here because it goes by so fast.

Q: What is your favorite part about Auburn?
A: Auburn really has such a family atmosphere, everyone is so kind and supportive of one another. Everyone is so supportive of our team and all of Auburn athletics.
