AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn backcourt stars Bryce Brown and Jared Harper have agreed to deals with NBA teams Friday afternoon.
Brown signed with the Sacramento Kings, while Harper chose to take his talents to the Phoenix Suns. Both players are set to participate in the NBA Summer League, July 5-15, in Las Vegas.
Brown, Harper and Chuma Okeke, who was drafted 16th overall by the Orlando Magic, are aiming to be Auburn's first NBA trio to play together since Jamison Brewer, Marquis Daniels and Adam Harrington played together on The Plains during the 2000-01 season.
They are the first trio of teammates to enter the NBA in the same draft class since Mike Jones, Jeff Moore and Chris Morris in 1988.
Brown, who was a two-time All-SEC performer, averaged 15.9 points per game across his final two seasons as a Tiger. He set the program record for the most 3-pointers in a career with 382 makes from beyond the arc.
The Stone Mountain, Ga. native's 3-point total finished second in Southeastern Conference history and 28th in the NCAA record books. He also broke the Auburn and SEC record with 141 3-pointers in his senior season.
Brown was chosen as the SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading the Tigers to their second tournament title in program history behind 16.5 points, 2.0 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game.
He was also named to the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional All-Tournament Team during Auburn's historic run to the Final Four after averaging 18.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 55 percent from the floor, including 47 percent from behind the arc.
Harper, a fellow two-time All-SEC honoree, averaged 15.3 points, 5.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in his final season with the Tigers. He touted 231 total assists, setting the program record while leading the SEC and ranking ninth in the country.
The Mableton, Ga. native became one of only three players in Auburn history to amass 1,000 points and 500 assists, joining Wes Flanigan and Doc Robinson.
He was chosen as the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional Most Outstanding Player after averaging 17.5 points, 6.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds to go along with 44 percent from the floor in the Tigers' run to the Final Four.
Harper earned a spot on the SEC All-Tournament Team after averaging 15.3 points, 4.8 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game en route to Auburn's SEC Championship run, winning four games in four days.
Brown is aiming to be the third former Tiger to play for the Sacramento Kings along with Toney Douglas (2012-13) and John Mengelt (1971-73).
Meanwhile, Harper could become the sixth former Auburn player to suit up for the Suns along with Charles Barkley (1992-96), Pat Burke (2006-07), Chris Morris (1998-98), Wesley Person (1994-97) and Aaron Swinson (1994-95).
