Auburn establishes several PRs and season best at Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Auburn posted 23 season best marks and nine personal bests during the two-day Vanderbilt Invitational against a very strong field of competition at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility this weekend.

Sophomore Madi Malone and senior Natosha Jordan led the way for the Tiger women. Malone finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 21.21m/69-7, the fourth longest throw in Auburn school history. Jordan meanwhile established a new personal-best in the 60m hurdles, crossing in 8.67 to take sixth. Jordan also tied for third in the high jump after clearing 1.75m/5-8.75.

On the men's side sophomore newcomer Christopher Grant was third in the men's 60m dash and the second collegiate finisher. The Kingston, Jamaica native posted a 6.72 in prelims before running a 6.71 in the finals. Sophomore James Courson set a new PR in the pole vault, clearing 5.10m/16-8.75 to finish fourth place while sophomore Erik Ebel established a new personal best in the weight throw (17.94m/58-10.25) to finish seventh.

Sophomore Dontavious Hill took sixth in the men's high jump (2.05m/6-8.75), while sophomore Craig Clark was seventh in the men's 60m hurdles (8.44) after running a season-best 8.35 in prelims.

Other Tigers that set PRs during the meet include Ryan Lee (800m) and Jason Reese (60m) on the men's side and Tylar Colbert (200m), Jen Dietrich (800m), Sarah Little (Long Jump) and Myra Mack (200m) on the women's team.

Auburn returns to action Jan. 24-25 at the Bob Pollack Invitational in Clemson, S.C. The meet will be held at the Clemson Indoor Complex.
