AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn has had at least one diver make podium in each of the first three nights at the SEC Championships. The Tigers will have another opportunity Friday night with all three men's divers making the final for the platform event.
Sophomore Conner Pruitt led the way in prelims with 359.10 points to finish third. Next up was freshman Skip Donald who was sixth with 309.95 points. And with 294.60 points, junior Logan Andrews placed eighth to round out the eight-diver field in Friday night's final. For Donald, it was a career-best score on platform.
The Auburn men will also have two swimmers in A-Finals for the second straight night.
Senior Santiago Grassi, who won silver in the men's 100 butterfly Thursday night, will have another shot at making podium Friday in the men's 200 butterfly after finishing seventh in prelims with a time of 1:43.86. And junior Christian Ginieczki will swim in the A-Final for the men's 100 back after an eighth-place finish in prelims.
On the women's side, three Tigers qualified for finals in the 200 butterfly. Junior Jewels Harris and freshman Averee Preble will both swim in the B-Final, and senior Jaden Bellina will swim in the C-Final. Preble's time of 1:58.83 was a new lifetime best.
In all, Auburn will have 11 swimmers and three divers competing in finals.
