GREENSBORO, Ga. – Freshman Megan Schofill fired a career-low 68 as the Auburn women's golf team took a commanding 15-shot lead following the second round of the Lake Oconee Invitational on Saturday.

Schofill, now at 3-under for the tournament, moved into third place on the player leaderboard after playing a bogey-free round with four birdies. The rest of her Auburn teammates are all in the top 25 individually heading into Sunday's final round.

As a team, the Tigers shot a 284 (-4) with a total of 10 birdies Saturday. They currently lead the field with 22 birdies after knocking in 12 during the first round.

Junior Mychael O'Berry holed out her second shot on the Par-4 fourth for an eagle, her second of the spring season. O'Berry, who leads the field at 5-under on Par 4s through the first two rounds, shot a 71 (-1) for the second consecutive day and sits in a tie for fourth overall, one shot back of Schofill.

Seniors Elena Hualde Zúñiga and Kayley Marschke both carded a 73 (+1) on Saturday and combined to make five birdies. It was the second straight round at 1-over for Hualde Zúñiga, who is currently 10th with one round to play.

After a rare round over par Friday, junior Kaleigh Telfer bounced back with a 72 (E) in the second round. It was her 10th round at par or better in the 2019-20 season.
