TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Two more wins in doubles and three more victories in singles Sunday highlighted the Auburn women's tennis team's final day at the SEC Challenge, hosted by Alabama.

Auburn finished the week with 15 total wins; nine in singles and six in doubles. The Tigers won three singles matches and two doubles matches each day of the three-day event with all of Sunday's wins coming against opponents from LSU.

"I am proud of our response today," Auburn head coach Caroline Lilley said. "We challenged the team to rise to a higher standard and they did just that. Our energy and competitiveness was night-and-day compared to yesterday. The tennis will come as we continue to seek solutions instead of being consumed by the challenges."

The doubles team of Georgie Axon and Adeline Flach made it a perfect 3-0 weekend as they defeated LSU's team of Richardson and Carrington in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (4). Carolyn Ansari and Taylor Russo teamed up for the first time in the tournament and came away with a 6-4 win over LSU's Corley and Loughlan. And Shir Azran and Yu Chen came up short against Geissler and Buyckx, 6-2.

In singles, Chen downed Nina Geissler, 6-3, 6-2, for her second win of the weekend. Azran also picked up her second win with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win over Samantha Buyckx. And Russo bounced back with a three-set victory over Eden Richardson, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

Ansari fell to LSU's Paris Corley, 6-4, 6-3, Axon dropped a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Safiya Carrington, and Flach came up short against Taylor Bridges, 6-4, 6-2.

Auburn will close out the fall portion of its schedule next weekend at the June Stewart Invitational in Nashville, hosted by Vanderbilt.
