AUBURN, Ala.—Fresh off the 2021 outdoor opener which saw two national leading marks and over 50 new personal bests, the Auburn track and field team will compete at the FSU Relays at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla., Thursday and Friday.

"We're looking to get out this weekend and be competitive and try to get some preliminary qualifying marks like we did last weekend," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "We had a ton of personal bests this past weekend and got off to a great start."

Auburn opened the outdoor season at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn this past weekend where sprinter Dante Brown posted the nation's top 100m time of 10.15 while high jumper Dontavious Hill cleared 2.21m/7-3 to also notch the top jump in the country. For their efforts, both were earned conference athlete of the week honors from the SEC.

A competitive field will great the Tigers with the nine-team field to include Florida, Georgia and Tennessee from the Southeastern Conference and Clemson, host Florida State, and Georgia Tech from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

"The majority of our season is based on performing and getting ready for our postseason and the conference and national championships," Spry said. "So, it's always about peaking and getting better as the year goes by and trying to hit qualifying marks to give you a shot at SECs and nationals."

Thursday's competition will begin at 2 p.m. ET with the men's and women's hammer throw. Running events will start at 7 p.m. ET with the men's 200m dash.
