AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn freshman Adeline Flach was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for women's tennis, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Flach, a native of Alpharetta, Ga., posted a 2-0 weekend in singles in a pair of road wins for the Tigers last week. Both of her victories provided the match-clinching points for the then-17th-ranked Tigers in a 4-2 win at No. 22 Arkansas and a 4-1 win at Missouri.

Moving into the No. 5 singles position, she picked up her first two SEC wins on the road in that spot, defeating Arkansas' Lauren Alter 7-6 (4), 6-3, and Missouri's Elys Ventura, 7-5, 6-4. For the season, Flach is 13-6 overall in singles, 10-3 in dual matches and 5-2 in the SEC.

This is the first weekly honor for Flach and the second this season for the Tigers; Georgie Axon was SEC Player of the Week in late February after wins over South Carolina and Florida.

The 20th-ranked Tigers play their final two home matches of the regular season this weekend, hosting No. 17 Texas A&M at 3 p.m. CT Thursday and No. 14 LSU at noon CT Saturday.
