AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women's tennis sophomore Selin Ovunc was officially named an All-American, and year-end national and regional rankings were released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this week.
 
Ovunc advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Singles Championship last month, becoming the second player in program history to earn All-America honors in singles. She is the seventh overall All-American in Auburn women's tennis history and the first since 2016. She finished with an overall singles record of 15-11, playing every match in the spring season at the No. 1 position in Auburn's lineup.
 
Final national rankings were announced by the ITA last week. Ovunc finished 50th in the final singles ranking, the highest singles finish for an Auburn player since 2017. Sophomore Carolyn Ansari came in at 67th. In doubles, Auburn's team of Ovunc and grad student Taylor Russo were ranked 23rd in the final national rankings, and the team of grad student Georgie Axon and freshman Adeline Flach finished 76th. As a team, Auburn's final ranking was No. 22, its highest final ranking since 2017 and the seventh top-25 finish in program history.
 
Regional rankings were also released this week. Auburn was the No. 2-ranked team in the Southern region, which consists of all schools in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana. Ovunc finished fourth in the regional singles rankings, Ansari came in at No. 6, junior Yu Chen was No. 11 and Axon was ranked 13th. In doubles, the team of Russo and Ovunc took the top spot with Axon and Flach ranked fourth.
 
As a team, Auburn finished 14-9 overall, 7-6 in SEC play, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in the second season (first completed season) under head coach Caroline Lilley.
