Bob Starkey had the opportunity to take over a program that he, as the interim head coach, had taken to a Final Four. By the way, nearly everyone was coming back for another Final Four run. Without the guarantee of a job on the new staff, Starkey turned it down!
Recently, Starkey was inducted into the A Step Up Assistant Coaches Hall of Fame. Now he's part of a staff, led by Johnnie Harris, to turn around the Auburn Women's Basketball program.
