AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn track & field senior Dontavious Hill was named the SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Tuesday following a nationally-ranked performance over the weekend at the Carolina Challenge.
The veteran high-jumper cleared a personal-best 2.19m/7-2.25 to finish first in a field of 18 total competitors. The event win marked Hill's fifth of his career.
Hill's clearance is the top mark in the SEC and the third-best in the country this season.
The honor is the second of Hill's career with the first coming during last year's outdoor campaign.
Hill and the Tigers return to action this weekend as they are slated to compete in Texas Tech's Open and Multis event January 28-29.
