INDIANAPOLIS – The U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) released its 2021-22 Men's All-District Teams on Wednesday, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus.
The USBWA has selected All-District teams since the 1956-57 season, its founding year. For each of the nine geographic districts, 10 players are selected as well as a player and coach of the year.
Auburn Head Coach Bruce Pearl, the SEC Coach of the Year, was named USBWA District IV Coach of the Year, while sophomore center Walker Kessler (Newnan, Ga.) and freshman forward Jabari Smith (Fayetteville, Ga.) garnered spots on the All-District Team.
Kessler and Smith were among teammates from 16 schools – Arizona, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Bryant, Duke, Gonzaga, Illinois, Kansas, Providence, Purdue, Tennessee, UConn, Vermont, Villanova and Wyoming – to be lauded by the USBWA.
