AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn track & field will have a mix of seven current and former athletes vying for a spot at next month's World Athletics Championships while competing at their respective country's national trials this week.

Six Tigers will square off at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon in hopes of securing their spot on the United States National Team while outgoing senior Keira McCarrell will throw at the McLeod Athletic Park in Langley, British Columbia to fight for her spot on the Canadian National Team.

McCarrell, the No. 2 female javelin thrower in school history and this year's Texas Relays Champion, will compete Sunday at 4:15 p.m. CST.

Also hoping to utilize their javelin prowess to earn an appearance at Worlds will be the All-American sibling duo of Justin and Ashley Carter. Competing for Auburn from 2014 to 2018, Justin ranks as the No. 3 male performer in school history while recent Auburn graduate and reigning SEC Javelin Champion Ashley also ranks third in the Auburn record books on the women's side.

Ashley will compete first, throwing Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CST while Justin will throw Sunday 2:35 p.m. CST.

Auburn Alum, Rachel Dincoff, a member of the United States Olympic Team for Tokyo 2020, will look to make another appearance in the Red, White and Blue as she will compete in the discus throw Friday at 8:45 p.m. CST.

The fifth Auburn thrower to step into the pit this week will be reigning SEC Hammer Champion Madi Malone. After capping off her season with a First Team All-American showing at NCAA Outdoors earlier in the month, Malone returns to Hayward to compete in hammer once more Thursday at 7 p.m. CST.

Asia Jinks will also suit up in hopes of making the national roster as a competitor in the 400m hurdles. She will compete in the first round Thursday at 6:50 p.m. CST.

The seventh and final Tiger athlete looking to punch their ticket to Worlds will be senior high jumper Dontavious Hill. Fresh off a bronze medal at NCAA Outdoors, Hill looks to make a splash on the professional level as he competes in the men's high jump Sunday at 2:25 p.m. CST.

The top three athletes in each event will qualify for the World Championships this summer, so long as they meet the world standard in their respective events.
