AUBURN, Ala. – Two top prospects have signed National Letters of Intent and will join the Auburn women's basketball program for the 2023-24 season, Head Coach Johnnie Harris announced Wednesday.

The Tigers will welcome Timya Thurman (C, 6-5, Linden, Ala.) and Savannah Scott (C, 6-4, Conway, Ark.) to The Plains next fall.

"I'm very excited about the class of 2023," Harris said. "They both provide much-needed SEC size and skills that will help boost our program to the next level. This is an instant impact class that we've needed to rebuild this program.

"On this day, Auburn women's basketball just got better. War Eagle!"

Below is some information about the Tigers' two signees:

SAVANNAH SCOTT
Position: Center
Height: 6-4
Hometown: Conway, Ark.

Club: Mavs Elite

Highlights: Ranked as No. 6 player in Arkansas in the 2021 Girls Fab40 … 2021 Arkansas All-State selection … Two-time all-conference selection … Named to all-state tournament team in 2019 … Has helped lead Conway to No. 13 preseason national ranking according to MaxPreps … Chose Auburn because of its great academic programs, beautiful campus and because she felt like she fit in with everyone.

Coach J on Savannah: "Savannah Scott is a physical player who has really good hands and footwork in the paint. When I think of tough, hard-nosed, physical, and aggressive…she's a player that comes to mind. She's also the kind of post player skilled enough to play with another big."

TIMYA THURMAN
Position: Center
Height: 6-5
Hometown: Linden, Ala.
High School: Linden
Club: AL Southern Starz

Highlights: Named the 2022 Class 1A Player of the Year in Alabama … Named to all-state team and was district MVP … Averaged 25 points and 20 rebounds as a junior in 2022, leading Linden to the AHSAA Elite Eight and an area title… Also played volleyball … Chose Auburn because of the coaches, atmosphere and because it was the right fit for her.

Coach J on Timya: "Timya Thurman has the potential to be a dominant post player in the SEC. She's long, physical, and her presence will be felt on both ends of the court. This is an Alabama kid that is able to stay close to home, while establishing her new home here at Auburn."
