AUBURN, Ala. – After a week off for final exams, the Auburn women's basketball team is back on the court Sunday afternoon as they host the University of Louisiana at Lafayette at 2 p.m. CT.
 
The Tigers (6-2) are coming off a huge 40-point win over previously unbeaten UCF last Saturday that saw Aicha Coulibaly record her second double-double of the year and Honesty Scott-Grayson top the 20-point mark for the third time in four games. ULL (5-4) has won its last four games coming into Sunday's matchup.

››           Aicha Coulibaly recorded her second double-double of the year, Honesty Scott-Grayson scored 22 points, and the Auburn women's basketball team steamrolled past previously unbeaten UCF 86-46 Saturday afternoon at Neville Arena.
››           The Tigers (6-2) dominated all phases of the game, using a smothering defense to hold the Knights (6-1) to their lowest scoring total of the season while securing its largest margin of victory in 2022-23.
››            Coulibaly finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season and seventh of her career. She was a force in all areas, recording four assists with a pair of blocks and one steal. Scott-Grayson led the Tigers in scoring for the fourth straight game, scoring 20-plus for the third time in those four contests.
››           Sophomore Mar'Shaun Bostic scored a career-high 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting; she also had two rebounds, one assist and one steal. Freshman Sydney Shaw and junior Jakayla Johnson came up just short of double-figures with nine and eight points, respectively.
››           Auburn shot 47.8 percent from the floor (33-69) and hit 6-of-13 3-point attempts (46.2%). Meanwhile, the Knights were held to a season-low 22.4 percent night and did not hit a 3-pointer; it's the second straight opponent Auburn has held scoreless from long range. Auburn also controlled the boards, pulling down a season-high 51 rebounds to UCF's 33, and the Tigers' relentless ball pressure forced UCF into 18 turnovers while holding the Knights without a single assist on the day.

››           Returning to the court for the first time in 12 days, the Auburn women's basketball team picked up a 71-59 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette at Auburn Arena.
››           Sophomore Unique Thompson recorded her third straight double-double and fourth of the season grabbing 13 rebounds while dropping 16 points; she also led the team with four steals.
››           Senior Janiah McKay finished with 13 points and six assists. Emari Jones had eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds, and Daisa Alexander finished with a career-high eight assists. The Tigers forced a season-best 26 turnovers, scoring 27 points on those takeaways. Auburn shot 44.3 percent from the floor and held the Cajuns to 33.3 percent.
 
SCOUTING THE CAJUNS
››           Louisiana-Lafayette is 5-4 on the season but has won its last four games. Their last two wins came over non-Division 1 opponents. 
››           The Cajuns average 53.3 points per game while holding opponents to 56.2.
››           Tamera Johnson leads the Cajuns in scoring (10.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg). She has three double-doubles on the season.
 
SCOUTING AUBURN
››           Auburn is 6-2 after a 40-point home win over UCF last Saturday. The Tigers are 5-1 at home this season.
››           The Tigers rank 6th nationally with 6.4 blocks per game and 18th in the country with 15.9 offensive rebounds per contest. Auburn is also top-50 nationally in turnover margin at +5.0 (49th).
››           Junior Aicha Coulibaly is fourth in the SEC in scoring (17.0 ppg) and second in steals (2.6 spg). Those numbers rank her 83rd nationally in scoring and 47th in steals. She has two double-doubles this season, with her last coming against UCF last week (17 points, 12 rebounds). She was a preseason All-SEC Second Team selection.
››           Through eight games, Honesty Scott-Grayson averages 14.4 points to rank second on the team. She has led Auburn in scoring four straight games, scoring 20-plus in three of those four. She is also the Tigers' top 3-point shooter so far, hitting 50% from long range (14-of-28), including 11 of her last 17.
››           Redshirt sophomore Romi Levy recorded double-doubles against both Alabama State and Little Rock. Last week vs. Little Rock, she had career-highs in points (18) and rebounds (13) for her second career double-double. She has started the last two games.
››           Senior Sania Wells was the SEC's leading free-throw shooter in 2021-22, hitting 90.5% of her attempts (76-84). That percentage ranked sixth in the nation. Wells has topped the 10-point mark twice this year and is 8-10 at the FT line so far this season.
››           Auburn's newcomers have all made an immediate impact with three freshmen - Kaitlyn Duhon, Sydney Shaw and Kharyssa Richardson - starting each of the first four games. Duhon scored 17 points in the win over South Alabama, and Shaw leads the team with 3.3 assists per game. Richardson had a season-high 9 rebounds vs. Colorado State before leaving the game with injury. Junior Jakayla Johnson has earned starts the last two games, averaging 6.0 points in those starts.
