ATLANTA, Ga.  –Whit Andrus secured an Auburn win in the 1-meter while both Ashlynn Sullivan and Abigail Farrar never strayed from a medal as Jeff Shaffer's group of divers racked up five podium finishes on day one of the Georgia Tech Diving Invitational

Sullivan kicked off the meet on the right foot for the women. Her 299.30 on the 3-meter was good enough for a second-place finish on the 3-meter. Meanwhile, teammate Abigail Farrar put together a solid list for a 291.50 and third place.

When it came time for the 1-meter, both Sullivan and Farrar were just as impressive. Flip-flopping their finish, Farrar secured second just one point shy of a career-best (285.95) while Sullivan's 265.95 marked third.

As he so often does, Conner Pruitt led the way for the Auburn men on the 3-meter. The Opelika native dialed up a respectable 354.35 for fourth. Walker Creedon's 344.60 put the Virginia transfer in fifth. Whit Andrus and Hunter Kebler grabbed seventh and tenth, respectively.

Whit Andrus absolutely loves the McAuley Aquatic Center. The Winston-Salem, North Carolina native conjured a personal best and win on the 3-meter in a dual with Georgia Tech at the beginning of January. Friday, Andrus went to work on the 1-meter, piling up a score of 341.50 to earn his second victory of the season.

Pruitt would nab fourth. Creedon and Kebler finished tenth and eleventh.

DECK TALK
Head diving coach, Jeff Shaffer
"This meet was designed for us to get one more competitive experience before the SEC Championships next month. We did some good things today and missed a couple of things from a lack of focus and some small mental mistakes. Overall, we just need to sharpen up and continue to learn how to finish dives.

"Abby was impressive today on the 1-meter and Ashlynn was solid on the 3-meter. The guys were a bit off on the 3-meter but Whit gave us a nice bounce back on the 1-meter. Tomorrow will be a good opportunity for all of them to prove what we're capable of."
