AUBURN, Ala. – Following a breakthrough performance at last week's FSU relays, Auburn senior high jumper Dontavious Hill was named the SEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
In his second meet of the outdoor season, the Mobile, Alabama native cleared 2.24m/7-4.25 in the men's high jump to lock down the event win. Hill not only took the top spot at the meet but also set the nation's leading mark by two inches. Through five seasons on The Plains, Hill ranks as the No. 2 all-time performer in school history, trailing only Olympian Donald Thomas' top mark of 2.35m/7-8.5 set in 2007.
Hill and the Tigers' track and field team will be back in action this weekend, March 29 – April 1, at the historic Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
