AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women's golf is set to kick off the 2023-24 season, the eighth under head coach Melissa Luellen, Friday through Sunday at the Mason Rudolph Championship just south of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee.

Auburn graduate student Megan Schofill looks to defend her title at this year's event as she took home individual honors in 2022 after posting three rounds under par and a three-day total of 207 (-9) to claim the championship by two strokes. The 2023 U.S. Women's Amateur champion enters Friday's opening round as Auburn's all-time career scoring average leader at 72.14.

As a team, Auburn also had a strong performance last season, posting a fifth-place finish at 866 (+2). Another top-five finish would extend the Tigers' streak of top-five finishes at the Mason Rudolph to five.

Ami Gianchandani is set to make her Auburn debut on Friday, making her first appearance in Orange and Blue since transferring to the Plains after graduating from Yale University in May where she received Ivy League Player of the Year honors on two occasions. The Watchung, New Jersey, native also had an impressive summer in the Garden State, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the New Jersey Women's Open and a second New Jersey Women's Amateur title.

Redshirt sophomore Carys Worby, who received two team starts prior to postseason play during the 2022-23 season, also received the nod to join the starting lineup for the Tigers' season opener.

Auburn, currently ninth in the nation according to the Women's Golf Coaches Association, is joined in the 18-team field with six other schools that are in the WGCA top-25 including No. 4 LSU, No. 7 South Carolina, No. 12 Baylor and No. 14 Arizona State.

The event's first round is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. CT at Vanderbilt Legends Club's North Course. Live scoring of the Mason Rudolph will be available on Golfstat.com and the GolfStat mobile app.
