AUBURN, Ala. – Ashton Bowers has signed a national letter of intent to play at Auburn beginning the 2024-25 season, head coach Caroline Lilley announced on Wednesday.
"On our very first call with Ashton, it was evident that she is someone who works to make her dreams become a reality," said Lilley. "Her work ethic is unparalleled, fueled by the rage to master her craft. There is a big difference between loving tennis and liking tennis. Tennis is Ashton's passion, something that has helped shape the young woman she is today. She competes with integrity while allowing her moral compass to be her guide."
Bowers is ranked as the ninth recruit in the nation and as the top recruit in her home state of Georgia by Tennis Recruiting Network. The blue-chip recruit also has a career high ITF junior ranking of 43. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native has won four singles ITF titles in her career at the J2 La Paz and J2 Cochabamba in 2022 as well as the J4 Leon and J5 Cancun in 2021.
Bowers participated in both the Junior Australian Open earlier this year and picked up her first Women's Tennis Association points after making it to the finals at the 2023 Norman 15K in Norman, Oklahoma.

"As a player with international experience at the most prestigious junior events in the world, Ashton is just starting to brush the surface of what she is capable of," continued Lilley. "Coach Edina Gallovits-Hall has helped mold her, giving her so many different tools and weapons in the arsenal. We are humbled to be a part of her next chapter as we continue the development process that is already underway.
"Welcoming Ashton and the entire Bowers family to the Auburn family is a blessing. We could not be more excited about the future of our program. To be a part of Ashton's journey as she begins a new chapter is an honor."
Bowers will arrive on the Plains from Greater Atlanta Christian School and plans to major in finance. Her brother, Tyler, plays collegiate tennis at the University of Illinois.
