LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore outside hitter Madison Scheer was named AVCA All-South Region, the association announced Tuesday.

Putting together one of the more remarkable seasons in program history, the Eureka, Missouri native solidified career highs in kills per set (3.35), hitting percentage (.263), points per set (3.60) and blocks per set (0.47).

Scheer was also named All-SEC for the first time in her career last month after picking up All-Freshmen honors following her rookie campaign.

Twice, Scheer was voted SEC Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts throughout this year. After a brilliant weekend picking up 14 kills on .667 hitting in a win over then-No. 9 Florida and 19 more kills on .371 hitting versus South Carolina, she became just the second Tiger in program history to win AVCA National Player of the Week on Oct. 10.

Scheer becomes the third student-athlete under head coach Brent Crouch to earn All-Region honors at Auburn. Both Akasha Anderson and Kendal Kemp picked up the award in 2022. In total, Crouch has now guided seven players to All-Region status throughout his 10-year coaching career.
