KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Thursday's action at the Tennessee Diving Invitational brought the tension up a notch as the women headed to the platform and the men over to the 3-meter. Abigail Farrar and Whit Andrus led the Tigers as both secured top-10 finishes amongst stellar competition from around the country.
Farrar was coming off a season-best 251.50 on the tower at the Auburn Diving Invite in December. The Pompano Beach, Florida native put together a five-dive list that scored an even 228.00 overall to take 10th.
Freshman Kayla Walsh would take 16th and Kyleigh Kidd grabbed 19th.
Whit Andrus has been the model of consistency on the springboards this season. With yet another set of dives scoring over 360 points on the 3-meter, his 360.75 was the fifth-best out of prelims. Andrus would add a 347.10 in finals to snag eighth overall.
Hunter Kebler finished 24th overall while freshmen Talan Blackmon and Alex Just took 25th and 28th, respectively.
In the team event, Kidd, Farrar and Ashlynn Sullivan combined for a 277.65 and fifth out of the nine teams competing.
