AUBURN, Ala. – The No. 15 Auburn gymnastics team is set to host the first regular season quad meet in Neville Arena this Friday, welcoming Temple, Fisk and Talladega to the Plains. The contest will start at 7 p.m. CT and will be streamed on SEC+.
"I'm excited for it because we have two new programs joining us this Friday that are really just up the street in Fisk and Talladega," head coach Jeff Graba said. "We have some really good connections with all three of these teams coming in and I'm excited to see not only where those teams stand, but where we stand after a great week of practice."
Auburn will start the night on vault, while Temple will be on bars, Fisk on beam and Talladega on floor. The teams will rotate in Olympic order with Auburn finishing the night on floor.
FAN INFORMATION
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. CT and fans are encouraged to plan accordingly to arrive before we get started at 7 p.m. CT.
PARKING
The Neville Arena Lot is reserved for those with premium seating and requires a parking pass to park in the lot. Those parking passes have been emailed to the appropriate ticket holders.
For those without a Neville Arena Lot parking pass, free and recommended parking is available in the Campus Safety Lot located off of War Eagle Way. This lot provides easy access to the main entrance of Neville Arena. Additional free parking is also available in the Stadium Parking Deck, Athletics Complex Parking Deck and the Coliseum Lot.
ADA parking is available in the Wire Road lot and a golf cart shuttle as well as a transit will begin running 90 minutes prior to each meet. The shuttle will run for one-hour post-meet.
FAN EXPERIENCE
A few reminders for fans during the meet…
- It's our Black History Month celebration on Friday!
- There will be a step show immediately after the conclusion of the meet.
- Fans will be able to collect the third of five autograph cards. This week's card will feature senior Ananda Brown, junior Lila Smith, redshirt freshman Olivia Greaves and freshman Emma Grace Boyd.
- Concessions and team shops are cashless.
POTENTIAL LINEUP
Auburn is once again at home this week and will once again start on vault with Temple on bars, Fisk on beam and Talladega on floor.
The Tigers are hoping to see a handful of 10.0 vaults from the top eight.
Leading the way is Stevens, who has a pair of 9.975s under her belt and was SEC Co-Champion in the event last year. She is coming off a season-best 9.9 last week at Arkansas.
Also earning a 9.9 against the Razorbacks was Julianne Huff. The freshman earned a career high with that score and a share of the vault title with Stevens.
Joining them in the top eight are seniors Olivia Hollingsworth and Sydney Schumaker as well as junior Sophia Groth. Both seniors earned career bests in Auburn's home opener three weeks ago. Schumaker, a transfer from SUNY Brockport, earned a share of the vault title with a 9.9 against the Wildcats, while Hollingsworth followed with a 9.875 to tie a career best.
Groth won the vault title vs. Florida on Jan. 19 with a season-best 9.9.
Junior Sara Hubbard has a pair of 9.875s on her Yurchenko 1.5 this season, while freshman Jersie Woolsey and junior transfer Anna Hill are also among the team's top eight.
The Tigers will move on to bars and a plethora of upperclassmen are set to lead the charge in the event as five of the top eight are fifth years, seniors or juniors.
Senior Gabby McLaughlin continued her excellent season as she set a career-best 9.9 last week at Arkansas to win the event.
Fifth year Stevens kicked off the year with a 9.925 in the event and has anchored the first four meets. Hollingsworth and Groth each earned 9.9s at the start of the season.
Fifth year Aria Brusch is also among the top eight and has 40 starts in the event in her career.
Joining the experienced crew in the top eight on bars will be sophomore Hannah Hagle, redshirt freshman Olivia Greaves and freshman Emma Grace Boyd.
The spot in the top eight is the first for Greaves in her career after battling a knee injury last year and a foot injury to start the season in 2024.
Auburn moves on to beam for rotation three and not much has changed for the top eight.
Stevens earned the beam title last week on the road with a season-best 9.9. McLaughlin has been rock solid in the event at the anchor spot for the squad.
