RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico – No. 17 Auburn had its best round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Tuesday at Grand Reserve Golf Club. The Tigers carded a final round 277 (-11) to finish the event with a 54-hole total of 856 (-8) and a third-place finish. The team concluded the event two strokes behind champion Arkansas.

Senior Anna Foster was the highlight of Tuesday's round, shooting a career-low 65 (-7) while Megan Schofill finished the event in a tie for third individually.

"A great day of golf by our seniors Megan and Anna!" Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said after the final round. "So proud of their performances and their leadership. The group really had it going and put themselves in a position to win the tournament. This performance taught them a lot and excited to turn around soon and play at the Moon Golf Invitational."

Foster's final 18 holes featured eight birdies, including a run of six birdies over the span of eight holes. The senior's round marks a new 18-hole career low, beating her previous record by two strokes. Foster's performance on Tuesday improved her leaderboard position by 13 spots from before the final round.

"I was able to give myself a lot of chances so that definitely helped me today," said Foster. "Making some birdies on 14, 15, 17 and 18 gave me some momentum as they were playing a bit tougher than the rest of the course."

Megan Schofill finished the tournament with all three rounds under par, firing a 4-under 68 on Tuesday. Schofill's three round total of 209 (-7) earned her a tie for third place, which is her best individual finish of the season. The Monticello, Florida native has now finished under par in all four events she has played for the Tigers this season.

Anna Davis picked up a top-25 finish in her collegiate debut in Puerto Rico, as her final round 71 (-1) led to a 54-hole total of 217 (+1) and a tie for 25th place. Katie Cranston, who participated in the event as an individual, shot even par (72) on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 27th place individually with a three-round total of 218 (+2).

Redshirt sophomore Casey Weidenfeld provided the final counting score of the round for the Tigers, as she carded a 1-over 73. Weidenfeld's tournament total of 221 (+5) earned her a tie for 38th on the individual leaderboard.

The next event on the Auburn schedule is the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Florida. That event will be held Feb. 18-20 at Suntree Country Club.
