ATHENS, Ga. – Delivering back-to-back stellar lists on day one of the Zone B Championships, senior Ashlynn Sullivan finished 10th (534.20) in the 1-meter to qualify for her first NCAA Championships later this month.
"I felt nothing but peace and relief under coach (John) Fox, knowing all the hard work was eventually going to show," explained Sullivan. "Staying at Auburn and making NCAAs as a 5th-year was the cherry on top of my career and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way."
Fresh off her bronze medal at the SEC Championships in Platform, Sullivan continued her form on the first day of the Zone B Championships. In prelims, the Lucas, Texas native pieced together a 263.90 for ninth place, earning the senior a second list.
With only 10 spots up for grabs on the 1-meter, she would stay calm, cool and collected in finals, adding a 270.30 for a grand total of 534.20 and 10th overall on the nose, three points clear of 11th. Sullivan now only needs top 12 finishes in the 3-meter and platform to also add those events to her 2024 NCAA Championships resume.
Sophomore Kyleigh Kidd narrowly missed the cut line in prelims, finishing 19th with a 246.70. Abigail Farrar came 26th and Kayla Walsh wound up 34th.
