OXFORD, Miss. – Auburn softball (25-17-1, 7-14 SEC) held a 2-1 lead in the third inning, but Ole Miss (28-23, 5-16 SEC) scored six unanswered runs to win Sunday's series finale 7-2 at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.

"We didn't play well," said head coach Mickey Dean. "There's no other way to describe it. We didn't hit well. We didn't pitch well. Our defense was susceptible. We're going to have two really good days of practice ahead us to get ready for that last series of the regular season."

Ole Miss used a pair of singles to help manufacture a run in the first inning, but Auburn answered back in the top of the second with a two-out rally. Icess Tresvik continued her hot weekend sending the first pitch of her at bat back up the middle. Amelia Lech followed with a single to left center that was booted in the outfield, allowing Tresvik to score from first to tie the game.

KK McCrary put the Tigers in front 2-1 with a solo home run, her eighth of the season, in the top of the third. The Rebels used a home run in the bottom of the third and two in the fourth to build a 6-2 lead. Ole Miss added its seventh run in the fifth with the help of an Auburn error.

Tresvik closed Sunday with a 2-for-3 effort, adding a double. Riley McNemar recorded her first hit of the season as she knocked a double late in the game.

Shelby Lowe (8-4) and Maddie Penta split time in the circle on Sunday, each tossing three innings. Lowe closed the game with one strikeout while Penta totaled three.

Auburn returns to Jane B. Moore Field, hosting No. 17 Alabama for the regular-season finale. The series begins Thursday at 7 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
