AUBURN, Ala. –Off the heels of tossing a combined perfect game in Auburn softball's last midweek contest, Maddie Penta and Shelby Lowe no hit UAB (17-22) as the Tigers (21-12-1) took down their in-state foe 9-0 in five innings at Jane B. Moore Field on Tuesday.

"We got off to a nice start," said head coach Mickey Dean. "We continued to build off that. Our pitchers worked ahead. We averaged 15 pitches an inning, which is exactly where we want to be. We did a nice job."

Penta earned the start and allowed a one-out base runner in the first inning off a hit by pitch before she retired 10 straight Blazers. UAB would not have another base runner until a two-out Penta walk in the fourth. Penta struck out five in her four innings of work, earning the win to improve to 12-6.

Lowe tossed the final frame, striking out two of the three batters she faced to complete the no-hit bid. The no-hitter was Auburn's third of the season and the 35th in Auburn softball history.

The Tiger offense scattered seven hits to plate their nine runs. Icess Tresvik continues to run up the stats as she drove in three runs on Tuesday. Mariah Penta and Nelia Peralta also turned in multi-RBI contests with two apiece.

Auburn got on the board early after setting the table for Tresvik with three straight walks. She didn't miss her RBI opportunity as she drove in two with a single to right center. Mariah Penta followed with a two-run double to push the lead to 4-0.

The Tigers loaded the bases again in the second inning but was limited to just one run off a Tresvik fielder's choice. Auburn took advantage of the free passes again in the third. With two on via walks, Wohlers singled through the right side to plate a run. A hit by pitch loaded the bases for a third time in the game before Peralta pushed across two with a two-out single through the left side.

Riley McNemar plated the final run in the fourth inning with a sacrifice fly to deep right.

Auburn makes the trek to Baton Rouge on Friday to begin a three-game series at No. 6 LSU. First pitch on the SEC Network+ is set for 6 p.m. CT.
