AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team stands at No. 12 in this week’s RoadToNationals rankings following a full weekend of college gymnastics, having an average score of 196.363.

The Tigers won the Lone Star Collegiate Invitational in San Antonio with a season-high 196.775, besting Penn State, Maryland, Arizona State and Temple.

Oklahoma remains on the top with a 197.750 average. LSU is second (197.475) and Alabama stands at third (197.025). Utah (196788) and California (196.775) round out the top five.

The rest of the SEC is among the top 20. Florida and Kentucky are seventh and eighth with Missouri coming in at No. 11. Georgia is 15th and Arkansas is 17th.

Auburn’s beam squad is tied for 10th nationally with a 49.175 average. The bars crew is 11th (49.100) and vault moved up to 12th (49.013). Floor remains in the top 20 at No. 17 (49.075).

Individually, freshman Katelyn Jong is 18th in the all-around with a 39.337 average after winning the title with a 39.500 on Saturday. She also captured the bars title following another 9.9 in the event, coming in tied for 10th nationally.

Three Tigers are tied for 33rd on vault with a 9.85 average in fifth year Olivia Hollingsworth, senior Sara Hubbard and sophomore Paige Zancan.

Jong and classmate Marissa Neal are tied for 34th on beam with a 9.85 average, while fifth year Gabby McLaughlin is among the top 50 on floor with a 9.863 average.

The Tigers kick off their home schedule with the First Meet on the Plains on Friday, January 17. Auburn will host Arkansas at 6 p.m. CT and the meet will be televised on SEC Network.
