AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn gymnastics team remains No. 12 in this week’s RoadToNationals.com rankings with a 196.725 average.
The Tigers (9-2, 2-1 SEC) bested the No. 11 Bulldogs this past Friday by .100 of a point, scoring a 197.3 to Georgia’s 197.2.
Oklahoma remains at the top of the rankings with an average of 197.746. LSU stands at No. 2 with a 197.400 with Florida moving to third with a 197.290. Utah (No. 4) and UCLA (No. 5) round out the top five.
The rest of the SEC is still among the top 20. Kentucky is eighth with Missouri (No. 9), Georgia (No. 11), Auburn (No. 12), Alabama (No. 14), and Arkansas (No. 15) following.
Auburn’s beam squad remains ranked at No. 6 nationally with an average of 49.288. Bars moved to No. 12 (49.183), while floor is ranked No. 16 (49.208). Vault moved in the rankings to No. 16 (49.046).
Individually, freshman Katelyn Jong remains 16th in the all-around with a 39.395. She is ranked sixth nationally on bars (9.90) and 19th on beam (9.879).
Freshman Marissa Neal stands eighth nationally with a 9.905 average, while sophomore Paige Zancan’s 9.9 on Friday on floor placed her 15th nationally in the event. Senior Sophia Groth moved up to 29th on floor with a 9.875 average.
Auburn takes on No. 3 Florida in Gainesville this Friday, February 14. The Tigers and the Gators will face off at 7:30 p.m. CT and streamed on SEC Network.
