INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three swimmers and four relay alternates have earned their way to the 2025 Men’s NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington inside Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center, March 26-29, the association announced Wednesday.

Mason Mathias (200 free, 500 free, 1650 free), Nate Stoffle (100 back, 200 back, 100 fly) and Danny Schmidt (200 fly, 200 IM, 400 IM) have all punched their tickets to NCAAs. Henry Bethel, Ryan Husband, Kalle Makinen and Logan Tirheimer will accompany the team as relay alternates.

Stoffle will be competing in his fourth NCAA Championships, while Schmidt and Mathias are each making their third appearance at NCAAs.

All three Tigers have already etched their names into the Orange and Blue record book. Schmidt is coming off a historic performance at the SEC Championships in Athens, Georgia. The German native set the school record in the 200 fly (1:40.43) and became the No. 2 performer in both the 200 free (1:31.80) and 200 IM (1:41.42).

Mathias holds Auburn records in the 500 free (4:10.82) and 1000 free (8:51.45). Moments after being crowned the 2025 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Mathias jumped to No. 7 all-time in the 200 fly at 1:42.14.

Stoffle has been an integral part of the backstroke excellence on the Plains. He owns the school record in the 100 back (44.89) and sits second in the 200 back at 1:39.01.

Between the trio, Stoffle (8), Mathias (4) and Schmidt (2) own 14 total All-American Honors.

Whit Andrus (3-meter, Platform) and Talan Blackmon (1-meter) have also earned their bids to NCAAs, bringing Auburn’s total number of male athletes competing in the Apple State to nine.

Last season, head coach Ryan Wochomurka guided the Tigers to a 12th-place finish with an even 100 points.
