AUBURN, Ala. – Returning to Jane B. Moore Field for another SEC showdown, No. 25 Auburn softball (21-12, 0-9 SEC) hosts No. 4 Florida (30-5, 3-3 SEC) in a three-game series, marking the third consecutive top-four opponent the Tigers have faced in league action.

“It’ll be a fun weekend,” said co-head coach Kate Malveaux. “Florida is very athletic. They are a little more seasoned now, especially in the circle. They have a lot of really good tools. There’s nothing better than playing at Jane B. Moore Field. Our fans show up and show out, and they make it very hard to play in our stadium.”

The series opens on Friday at 6 p.m. CT. It’s Pickelball Day at Jane B. Moore Field as fans will receive free Auburn softball pickleball paddles while supplies last. A pickleball court will also be set up at the stadium for fans to enjoy. Friday’s contest is available on the SEC Network+ with JJ Jackson and Auburn softball alum Shelby Lowe on the call.

Saturday the SEC will go teal for its annual All for Alex day in honor of Mississippi State’s Alex Wilcox, who lost her battle to ovarian cancer in 2018. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. CT. JJ Jackson and Auburn softball alum Kim (Freeland) Owens will be on the call.

The series concludes Sunday with an 11 a.m. CT first pitch on the SEC Network with Mark Neely and Danielle Lawrie.

All three games of the series are also available on WEGL 91.1 FM and the Auburn Sports Network. Brit Bowen will have coverage all weekend long and will be joined by Riley Kelton (Friday), Gehrig Gesch (Saturday) and Carson Meier (Sunday).

Florida holds the advantage in the all-time series with a 50-24 mark. It’s a much closer record in games played at Jane B. Moore Field with Florida holding a slight 19-14 edge. Auburn is searching for its first win in the series since sweeping the Gators in Auburn in 2005.

Auburn is coming off a 12-5 midweek win over in-state foe Troy. It was the first true road win of the season for the Tigers. Auburn set a season high with 17 hits in the game. It was also Auburn’s 15th comeback win of the season, which leads the country.

Florida is coming off a midweek loss to UCF as the Knights picked up a 4-0 shutout victory Wednesday. The Gators opened SEC play at Texas A&M, winning two games to clinch the series. Florida then faced Texas in Gainesville. The Gators salvaged a 3-1 win in game three to prevent a Longhorn sweep.

One of the top offenses in the country, Florida boasts a .362 batting average, which ranks ninth nationally. Kendra Falby leads the team with a .463 average behind 50 hits, the second most in the SEC. She’s added 44 runs and 17 RBI. Freshman Taylor Shumaker ranks second in the SEC with 13 home runs and leads the team with 52 RBI.

In the circle, Keagan Rothrock leads the Gators with an 8-1 record and a 1.17 earned run average though the sophomore has been sidelined since Feb. 22. Ava Brown has seen the most innings with 54.1. She holds a 2.32 ERA and is undefeated with a 7-0 mark.

AnnaLea Adams continues to be the toughest out in the Auburn lineup. In the last 21 games, she is hitting .491, going 28-for-57 at the plate. She’s knocked six doubles and five home runs for a .860 slugging clip during the stretch to go along with 17 RBI. Despite not playing in 11 of Auburn’s 32 games, the freshman still ranks in the top five on the team in hits (29), RBI (20), total bases (53), doubles (6) and home runs (6).

Auburn has already matched 86.7 percent of its 2024 home run total of 45 as the Tigers have slugged 39 through the first 33 games. Anna Wohlers leads the team with eight homers and has also added a team leading 26 RBI.

Wohlers joins Icess Tresvik (7) and Nelia Peralta (6) as returning starters that have surpassed their 2024 home run totals while Abbey Smith, Rose Roach and Kylie Brockman have all hit the first home runs of their respective careers.

SJ Geurin is tied with Mississippi State’s Raelin Chaffin for the SEC lead in victories with 15. The pair ranked second in the country as only Oregon’s Lyndsey Grein (16) has more. Geurin has been directly involved in 19 of Auburn’s 22 victories by either recording the win or the save. She leads Auburn with a 2.56 earned run average and 64 strikeouts.

Auburn boasts the third toughest schedule in the country as its opponents hold a .689 winning percentage entering the weekend. The Tigers are also one of 14 teams nationally to have nine or more wins over top 50 RPI teams. Nine of those 14 teams are members of the SEC.
