FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Day two of the 2025 Men’s NCAA Championships came to a close on Thursday inside the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center, and with two days of competition remaining, Auburn sits 23rd with 14 points. 

Mason Mathias kicked off his championships in the 500 free. Hitting the wall at 4:14.58, Mathias finished 23rd. 

Junior Danny Schmidt dialed up a 1:42.04 in the 200 IM, good enough to tie for the fifth-fastest time in program history. He would finish just outside the consolation finals in 18th. 

Talan Blackmon was the first Tiger to appear in the diving well this week. His 293.40 on the 1-meter put the sophomore 35th. 

Rounding out the evening, Logan Tirheimer, Kalle Makinen, Nate Stoffle and Ryan Husband combined for a 1:16.28 and 17th place. 

Friday’s slate of action includes the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 200 back, 3-meter diving and the 400 medley relay. Prelims are scheduled to begin at Noon CT.
