BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - After successful performances at the 2025 Southeastern Conference Track & Field Indoor Championships, seven Tigers were named to an All-SEC team, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Senior Makanakaishe Charamba and sophomore Ja’Kobe Tharp were named All-SEC First Team, freshman Israel Okon and Brenda Jepchirchir were named All-SEC Second Team and seniors Kyle Brown and Adrienne Adams and junior Azeem Fahmi were named All-SEC Third Team.

Last weekend, the Tigers competed in the 2025 SEC Indoor Championships at the R.A. “Murray” Fasken ‘38 Indoor Track & Field facility in Bryan-College Station, Texas. The men finished in sixth with 47 points, while the women earned 40.33 points and took eighth.

The men’s sixth place finish was the highest team finish since 2013 and the most points (47) since 2011.

Charamba was one of two athletes to win SEC individual titles. On the final day of competition, he won the men’s 200m by over a tenth of a second (20.13). His time was the fastest indoor 200m in the world this year and the world’s seventh fastest time ever. He also set the Zimbabwe record and ran the No. 3 African time.

Joining his teammate in the winner’s circle, Tharp also claimed gold in the men’s 60m hurdles, setting a facility record and breaking his own school record with a time of 7.48. He earned Auburn’s first gold at SEC indoors in the event since 2008 when Ty Arkins won. His time was the eighth fastest collegiate time ever and he equaled the second fastest college time of 2025.

Making his SEC Championships debut, Okon ran 6.51 in the prelim round of the men’s 60m dash. Okon’s 6.51 broke the freshman record, facility record, and tied him with the second fastest time in the country this year. His time equaled the 24-year-old World U20 record set by Mark Lewis-Francis of Great Britian. In finals, Okon ran 6.55 to claim a silver medal.

Freshman distance sensation Brenda Jepchirchir took silver in the women’s 5000m on day one of competition, crossing the line in 15:33.37. She finished second overall in the race, breaking her previous school and freshman time that she set in December (15:35.37). The Iten, Kenya native delivered the best showing by an Auburn freshman in the event since Joyce Kimeli in 2019.

Jepchirchir also raced in the women’s 3000m, where she finished sixth (9:14.71).

Fahmi’s collegiate best time of 6.56 in the 60m earned him a spot on the podium with a third-place finish. His time moved him up to eighth on Auburn’s Indoor Top Performance List. Fahmi’s time broke the Malaysian indoor national record.

Senior Kyle Brown won his third SEC indoor bronze medal in the men’s weight throw. Brown advanced to finals after throwing 21.89m on his third attempt of the round. His best throw of the competition came from his sixth and final attempt (22.24m).

Senior Adrienne Adams competed in women’s weight throw where she also claimed bronze in the event. She had a personal best of 21.41m on the fifth throw, which earned her a medal. Adams now has the fourth furthest throw in Auburn women’s history.

First place finishers are named to the first team, second place finishers are named to the second team and third place finishers are named to the third team.
