BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After helping Auburn to a pair of one-hit victories and a series win versus No. 13 South Carolina, SJ Geurin was selected as Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.

The Leander, Texas, native was virtually untouchable in the circle for the Tigers. Making an appearance in all four of Auburn’s contests last week, Geurin allowed just one run in 13.1 innings of work to record a 0.53 earned run average.

Picking up a pair of wins, the left hander scattered four hits to hold opponents to a .093 batting average at the plate. She issued just three walks and struck out 10 over the course of the week.

Highlighting her efforts was Geurin’s complete-game shutout versus No. 13 South Carolina, which clinched the series win for the Tigers. The redshirt sophomore retired 15 consecutive batters to take a perfect game bid into the sixth inning.

She allowed just one walk and one hit in the sixth to clinch Auburn’s third straight series win versus South Carolina. It was Geurin first shutout effort in SEC play and was Auburn’s first one-hit performance against a conference opponent since Maddie Penta held Mississippi State to a lone hit on May 7, 2023.

Geurin also combined for a one-hit shutout with Haley Rainey in Auburn’s midweek win at South Alabama last Wednesday.

Auburn softball concludes the regular season, hosting NC State for a three-game series at Jane B. Moore Field. Friday’s series opener is set for 6 p.m. CT on ESPN.
