Auburn with 10 NCEA Ariat All-America recognitions

Seven members of the No. 2 Auburn equestrian team combined for 10 Ariat All-America honors, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced Tuesday.

AUBURN, Ala. – Seven members of the No. 2 Auburn equestrian team combined for 10 Ariat All-America honors, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced Tuesday.

The 10 recognitions are the most by any school in the NCEA this year and the most for the program since the 2021-22 season.

“I’m really proud of the seven student-athletes that earned national recognition this year,” head coach Jessica Braswell said. “These honors are a result of consistent performances all season which is something we talk about as a key to team success.

“I’d also like to thank coaches Emma Kurtz and Mary Meneely for their work coaching the most All-Americans in the country this season,” Braswell added.

Five Jumping Seat riders earned national recognition, while two Western competitors were honored for their efforts.

Senior Mary-Grace Segars and sophomore Avery Glynn secured All-America honors in both Fences and Flat as each earned first team for Fences and honorable mention for Flat.

Glynn leads the team with a 12-0-0 record in Fences this year, having four Most Outstanding Performer honors. She has an 86.4 scoring average and has two scores in the 90s for the team. She has also put together a 6-3-3 record on the Flat with two MOPs and an 81.2 average.

Segars picked up honors after going 10-4-0 in Fences and 9-4-1 on the Flat. She has an average of 83.2 in Fences, having a career-high 93 in February and earning two MOPs. On the Flat, she has an 80.7 average over 14 meets and one MOP.

Joining the pair on the Fences first team was freshman Kate Hagerty. She has had an outstanding first year on the Plains, going 9-1-0 so far and having three MOPs. She averaged an 86.2 with a 9.9 win margin and put together two scores in the 90s this year, including a 91 on the road.

Fifth year Ellie Ferrigno and senior Sophee Steckbeck secured honorable mention honors in Fences. The All-America recognition is the fourth straight for Ferrigno and the third for Steckbeck. Ferrigno is 10-3-0 in Fences this year with one MOP, while Steckbeck stands at 9-4-1 with one MOP.

Junior Alexia Tordoff secured All-America honors in both Horsemanship and Reining this season, earning first team recognition in Horsemanship and honorable mention in Reining.

The honor in Horsemanship is her third straight and first time on the first team. Tordoff holds a 12-2-0 record in the event, having four MOPs this season and averaging a 75.4 over 14 meets. Highlighting her season so far was her 78.5 to tie a career high.

Tordoff’s recognition in Reining is the first of her career as she is 9-3-2 in the event. She has an SEC-best four MOPs and has averaged a 70.7. In addition, she reached a career high with a 74 in November.

Joining her in Horsemanship is sophomore Brooke Jolstad. The honor is the first for Jolstad and she was placed on the second team. Jolstad holds an 8-4-2 record with one MOP, averaging a 73.8 this year. She reached a career-high 77.5 in a win vs. Georgia at home.
