Auburn softball signs Ella Harrison and Alyssa Hastings to 2026 roster

A duo of talented student-athletes will continue their collegiate careers on the Plains as co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux announced the additions of Ella Harrison and Alyssa Hastings to the 2026 roster.

AUBURN, Ala. – A duo of talented student-athletes will continue their collegiate careers on the Plains as co-head coaches Chris and Kate Malveaux announced the additions of Ella Harrison and Alyssa Hastings to the 2026 roster. 

Harrison joins the Tigers after a breakout freshman season at Rutgers where she was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and was a NFCA All-Northeast Region selection. The right-handed pitcher set the single season strikeout record at Rutgers with 213. Hastings spent the last two seasons at Lipscomb. The utility athlete made history this season as Lipscomb’s first NFCA First Team All-Region honoree in program history.

ELLA HARRISON

Position: Right-Handed Pitcher

Hometown: Clarence, New York

High School: Clarence High School

Highlights: 2025 NFCA All-Northeast Region Third Team … 2025 Big Ten All-Freshman Team … a top-25 finalist for NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year … set Rutgers single season strikeout record with 213, which ranked 15th nationally and third in the Big Ten … her record setting performance was the best by an RU pitcher since 2013 and helped the staff to the third most strikeouts recorded in a season at Rutgers … averaged 8.4 strikeout per game, which ranked fifth in the Big Ten … posted a 2.61 ERA in her debut season and earned 12 wins … tossed 18 complete games, including four shutouts … held opponents to a .225 average at the plate … ranked eighth in the Big Ten with a 3.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio … first Rutgers pitcher to ever win NFCA National Pitcher of the Week accolades … 2023 and 2024 New York State Class AA Player of the Year … 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year finalist …. 2023 and 2024 First Team All-State selection … 2024 Western New York Player of the Year … 2024 ECIC Pitcher of the Year … a two-time First Team All-Western New York, First Team All-ECIC and First Team All-Bee honoree … 2024 All-Bee Pitcher of the Year … 2023 Class AA NY State Champion … 2024 Class AA NY State Finalist … three-time Class AA Sectional Champion … played travel ball with Beverly Bandits

ALYSSA HASTINGS

Position: Utility

Bat/Throw: Right/Right

Hometown: Huntsville, Alabama

Previous School: Lipscomb University  

High School: Buckhorn High School

Highlights: Spent the last two seasons at Lipscomb University … started 87 career games, primarily at shortstop … held a .349 career average for the Bison … totaled 90 hits, including 19 doubles and seven home runs in her career … added 43 RBI and 50 runs scored … owns a .504 career slugging and .444 career on-base percentage … a 2025 NFCA All-South Region First Team honoree, the first Bison in program history to ever earn first team honors … 2025 First Team All-ASUN selection … held a .413 batting average in 2025, which ranked second in the ASUN … set Lipscomb’s single season record with 23 doubles, which ranks second nationally … totaled 54 hits, 30 RBI and 35 runs scored during her sophomore campaign … a team captain … recorded 21 multi-hit games and a 20-game hit streak during the 2025 season … ended the year with a hit in 31 of Lipscomb’s final 32 games … 2024 ASUN All-Freshman Team member … finished third on the team in average with a .290 mark as a freshman … drew a team leading 22 walks and added 15 runs scored and 14 RBI … was a two-time All-State selection at Buckhorn … held Buckhorn records in batting average (.528), slugging percentage (.866), on-base percentage (.586), RISP average (.700), and hits per game (1.56)

She truly represents what Auburn is all about. Though she can play anywhere on the field, she has been a staple in the middle infield. She will also bring a lot of consistency at the plate with some power potential. She is smart and very self-aware of her game. We are so excited to have Alyssa on the Plains!”
