AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn women’s tennis head coach Jordan Szabo unveiled his team’s Fall 2025 schedule on Thursday. The fall will conclude with individual national champions being crowned at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
Last season, the Tigers saw a lot of success during the fall portion of the schedule. Auburn swept the ITA Southern Regional Championships with Merna Refaat winning the singles title while DJ Bennett and Ava Hrastar claimed the doubles crown. At the NCAA Singles Championship, Bennett became the second player in program history to reach the finals and Refaat earned All-American status by reaching the round of 16. Bennett and Hrastar advanced to the semifinal round of the NCAA Doubles Championship and picked up All-American honors during the historic run.
For the second consecutive season, Auburn will serve host to the ITA Southern Regional Championships at the Yarbrough Tennis Center, which will decide the southern regional singles and doubles champions. The Tigers’ lone home tournament will take place Oct. 13-17.
Three qualifying tournaments will provide Auburn players with access to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, as bids to each will be available to the top finishers in each of the three events. The ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, the ITA Southern Regional Championships in Auburn and the ITA South Sectional Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Ten singles players and four doubles teams will qualify for the individual championships through ITA All-Americans, two singles players and one doubles team will be given a spot through ITA Regionals, and six singles and three doubles slots will be decided through ITA Sectionals. All 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams will receive a bid to the NCAA individual championship fields through one of four types of events across the country.
In addition to the three ITA events, Auburn will kick off the fall slate with a trip to nearby Montgomery, Alabama, for the Blue-Gray National Tennis Classic at Lagoon Park. The event will be played Sep. 11-14.
