AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men’s tennis will host the inaugural Battle on the Plains Friday through Sunday at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Alabama. The dual-style tournament will feature Tigers Thomas Kennedy, Jake Kennedy, Hamza Nasridinov and Joey Phillips.
The event will include 32 pairs competing as teams, with one doubles match followed by two singles matches. The winner of at least two of the three matches will advance in its respective draw. Each flight will crown a team champion, and every pair will play four matchups during the weekend. For Auburn, Nasridinov will make his season debut paired with Jake Kennedy, while Thomas Kennedy will team up with Phillips.
The Tigers will be joined by players from North Alabama, Mercer, Georgia Southern, Ole Miss, Samford, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, South Alabama, Troy, UAB, Louisiana, Clemson, The Citadel, Lipscomb, Memphis and Alabama State.
The first round, along with the doubles portion of the second round, will be played Friday. The singles portion of the second round and all third-round matches will take place Saturday. The fourth and final round will be played Sunday. Matches each day will begin at 9 a.m. CT.
