AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn men’s golf and head coach Nick Clinard announced the signing of three student-athletes set to join the program at the start of the 2026-27 season on Wednesday. 

“We are so blessed to add Alex, Hampton and Smith to the Auburn golf family,” Clinard said. “They are excellent players, but more importantly, they are high-character young men from great families who will help continue to develop the culture in and out of our locker room. We’re excited to welcome them to The Plains soon!”

Joining the program are Hampton Beebe, Alex Holder and Smith Summerlin. Beebe hails from West Palm Beach, Florida; Holder is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Summerlin comes to The Loveliest Village on The Plains via Raleigh, North Carolina.

HAMPTON BEEBE
Hometown: West Palm Beach, FL
High School: Score Academy

Biography: Birthday is March 21… parents are Abigail and Hampton Beebe… Has two younger siblings, John and Charley… great grandfather, Arthur Beebe, and great uncle, Bayard Beebe, played in the 1925 U.S. Open at Worcester Country Club… plans to study communication… chose Auburn over Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Florida State. 

Accolades: played in first golf tournament at age five… 2025 Discover Puerto Rico Open champion... finished top 10 at 2025 Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship and 2025 Billy Horschel Atlanta Classic… also has multiple South Florida PGA and FJT victories… two-time top-five finisher at Florida HS State Golf Championship (2024, 25)… has five career aces, including two in one day. 

Clinard on Beebe: “Hampton is an incredible young man who comes from a great family in South Florida.  He has tons of ability and will prosper in our culture and environment at Auburn. Hampton loves the game and will be a great asset to our program.”

Biography: Birthday is November 22… parents are Troy and Kari Holder… has two older brothers, Nick and Zach, and one younger sister, Lainey… plans to study business… chose Auburn over Illinois, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Ole Miss. 

Accolades: 2025 Indiana State Amateur Champion… earned a pair of top 15s at the 2024 Jones Cup Junior Invitational and the 2025 Circle K Junior Championship… finished 17th at 2024 U.S. Junior Amateur.

Clinard on Holder: “Alex comes from a wonderful family and will be an excellent addition to the team. He's a competitor, has a high passion for the game, and loves to work. The 2025 Indiana State Amateur Champion has a bright future at Auburn and we look forward to his enrollment in January.” 

SMITH SUMMERLIN
Hometown: Raleigh, NC
High School: Broughton HS

Biography: Birthday is June 11… parents are Danny and Missy Summerlin… has two older siblings, Charles and Sallie… plans to study business… chose Auburn over North Carolina and Tennessee. 

Accolades: Fourth place at 31st Annual Bobby Chapman… also finished fourth at 2024 Eastern Amateur and 2024 Carolinas Amateur… top 15 at 2024 Jones Cup Junior Invitational… 2022 Jack Burke Junior Invitational Champion… runner-up at 2022 Southern Junior.

Clinard on Summerlin: “Smith is an outstanding young man from a great family. He's a competitor, very mature and has a great work ethic. Smith will be a leader in the locker room and has a bright future on the Plains.”
