BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Auburn track and field stayed hot in competing in Birmingham as the Tigers took home 12 individual wins, set 13 personal bests and seven meet records in the Samford Open at the CrossPlex, Saturday. The day was highlighted by five sprint wins and four field event titles.

Senior transfer Reese Webster won the women’s 60m with a meet record time of 7.32, while freshman Sophia Efetobore joined her on the podium with a third-place finish and personal best mark of 7.49. Webster also took home gold in the 200m with a time of 23.52 and has won all four events in her short Auburn career after securing two wins in the UAB Blazer Invite last week.

Senior Omari Lewis captured the men’s 60m with a new personal best of 6.58, the fourth-fastest mark in Division I this season and a new Samford Open record. Senior All-American Azeem Fahmi took silver in 6.60.

The Tigers continued their success in sprints as senior Ian Myers set a meet record in the men’s 200m with a time of 21.12, which ranks 19th in the NCAA this season.
