AUBURN — Former Auburn team captain Jeris McIntyre has joined the football staff as Director of Football and Alumni Relations, head coach Alex Golesh announced.
"I wanted someone in this role who knows Auburn, understands Auburn, and can be a great connection for us to our former players,” Golesh said. “Jeris is elite in everything he does, including building relationships. He has the right experience, and he truly loves Auburn. I know he's a perfect fit for this role and our staff."
In his role, McIntyre will serve as a liaison for the Auburn football program to former players and lettermen.
A native of Tampa, Fla., McIntyre returns to The Plains after spending the 2024-25 seasons as Director of High School Relations at UCF.
He entered the college ranks following a long stint as a youth coach and 10-year career as a high school football coach including six seasons as the head coach at Tampa Catholic High School.
McIntyre lettered from 2000-03 for the Tigers and led the team in receiving as a senior in 2003. He was voted a team captain in 2003
He was selected in the sixth round of the 2004 draft and spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2004-05. He also had stints in NFL Europe, the CFL and Arena Football.
A second-generation letterman, McIntyre’s father, Secdrick, earned four letters as a fullback from 1973-76. Jeris graduated from Auburn with a degree in education in 2003.
