AUBURN, Ala. – Returning home after a trip to the West Coast, Auburn softball (13-4) readies for its final non-conference tournament of the season, hosting Troy (12-2), No. 11 Virginia Tech (11-2) and USC Upstate (10-2) for the Jane B. Moore Memorial at Jane B. Moore Field.

“It’s going to be a pretty good test for us this weekend,” said co-head coach Chris Malveaux. “Troy is going to bring it every single time. Being an in-state opponent, they want to compete and win. USC Upstate is off to a good start, and we expect them to be competitive all weekend. Virginia Tech, it’s no secret, they are always giving themselves a chance to make a run in the postseason. We’ve got to make sure that we’re taking care of ourselves and making sure we’re preparing for the test ahead.”

The tournament, which has been held annually since 2022, is named after Dr. Jane B. Moore. A pioneer in women’s athletics at Auburn University, Auburn softball named its home facility in her honor in 2002. Dr. Moore passed away in 2021.

Auburn opens the tournament against Troy for a “Thursday Throwdown” at the park. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT. Friday features a pair of games as the Tigers have a rematch with Troy prior to taking on No. 11 Virginia Tech. The action begins at 4 p.m. CT.

Auburn celebrates Aubie’s birthday on Saturday with another twin billing. The Tigers face Virginia Tech at 1:30 p.m. CT before taking on USC Upstate at 4 p.m. CT. Aubie’s Kids Club members are invited to attend Aubie’s birthday party prior to the game. Birthday festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. CT.

Sunday’s finale versus USC Upstate is set for 11:30 a.m. CT. Fans are encouraged to stick around postgame for “Softballs from the Sky” as kids ages four to 15 are invited to come on the field and catch foam softballs dropped via helicopter in a world record attempt.

Biggio Drive will be closed approximately 20 to 30 minutes following the final out and will remain closed until the helicopter drop is complete.

This weekend marks the fifth iteration of the Jane B. Moore Memorial Tournament. The Tigers hold an 18-1 overall record across the previous four editions.

All six contests are available on the SEC Network+. The Auburn Network radio crew will provide the call across each broadcast. Jacob Hillman, Alex Bok, Brit Bowen, Mathias Lugert, Jake Dallow, JJ Jackson, Frank Melkonian, Ben Evans and Jack Chambers will be in the booth throughout the week. Fans can listen locally on WEGL 91.1 FM or can stream the radio call on the Auburn Tigers website or mobile app.

Due to road closures related to the War Eagle Run Fest scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, fans are encouraged to arrive early and be prepared for extra traffic and to review the map below for available parking and road closures.

The Tigers return to Jane B. Moore Field after a 4-2 showing at the elite Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, California. The weekend was highlighted by Auburn’s second victory over a ranked opponent as the Tigers topped No. 14 Oregon 10-5. Auburn concluded the tournament with a 19-5 victory over California. The Tigers slugged six home runs in the contest, which tied the program’s single game record.

Senior Destiny Rodriguez continues to pace the way in RBI production, leading the team with 21. She only needed 16 games in an Auburn uniform to slug five home runs, which matched her home run total over her first three collegiate seasons combined.

Ella Harrison has carried the bulk of the work in the pitching circle while her seven wins rank fourth nationally. Her 48 strikeouts rank fourth in the SEC. She has struck out multiple batters in 10 of her 11 appearances this season. She leads the team with a 2.08 earned run average.
