FORT WORTH, Texas – No. 6 Auburn women’s golf completed the first two rounds of the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational on Monday at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The Tigers are 27-over-par 587 through 36 holes and sit in 10th place on the team leaderboard.
“It was a long day on a very challenging and prestigious golf course, and we didn’t have our best performance,” Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. “That said, we’re learning from today and staying locked in as a team. We have 18 holes left tomorrow and a great opportunity to move up. We’re excited to get back out there and fight.”
Auburn sophomore Molly Brown Davidson opened with a 1-over-par 71 and followed with a 6-over 76. Junior Anna Davis shot 74 in the first round, then improved by a stroke in the afternoon with a 3-over 73. Carys Worby bounced back from an opening-round 76 (+6) with a 1-over 71 to provide a counting score. All three Tigers are tied for 34th individually.
Auburn freshman Charlotte Cantonis recorded two birdies in her opening round, carding a 3-over 73 before shooting 76 (+6) in the second round. She is tied for 54th.
Senior Katie Cranston provided a counting score in the first round with a 3-over 73. She is 10-over-par through two rounds and tied for 59th.
Auburn will play the final round Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 8:50 a.m. CT. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
