AUBURN, Alabama—Auburn had six athletes named to the All-SEC Indoor Track and Field Teams after their performances at the SEC indoor championships this past weekend on the campus of Texas A&M.
The All-SEC first team consists of the top finishers in each event, while the second team consists of the second-place finishers and the third team consists of the third-place finishers in each event. Ties are not broken.
Auburn’s All-SEC first team members include Kayinsola Ajayi, Megan Hague and Ja’Kobe Tharp. Ajayi won the men’s 60m dash title while equaling the collegiate record in the event, while Tharp won his second consecutive indoor title in the 60m hurdles. Hague won the women’s shot put title to become Auburn’s first female to win a conference title in a throwing event.
The Tigers’ second team representatives were Danae Nembhard and Alyssa Quinones-Mixon. Nembhard won silver in the women’s 60m hurdles after setting a school record in the semifinal round, while Quinones-Mixon finished second in the women’s pole vault, her first SEC podium finish of her Auburn career.
Sophomore sprinter Israel Okon was named to the All-SEC third team after winning a bronze medal in the men’s 60m dash.
