BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Freshman outfielder Mason McCraine has been named the Southeastern Conference Co-Freshman of the Week, marking his second weekly award this season, the league office announced Monday.

In 10 weeks of competition, McCraine’s honor marks the sixth by an Auburn player this season.
              - Ethin Bingaman: SEC Co-Freshman of the Week (Feb. 23)
              - Mason McCraine: SEC Freshman/Co-Freshman of the Week (Mar. 2, Apr. 20)
              - Jackson Sanders: SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week (Mar. 9)
              - Jake Marciano: SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week (Mar. 16)
              - Alex Petrovic: SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week (Apr. 13)

Making his first SEC starts since Apr. 3, McCraine homered three times and drove in seven runs in Auburn’s first series win in Gainesville since 2013. He tied for the team lead in runs (four) and hits (five) and reached base at a .429 clip.

Hitting out of the leadoff spot for the first time this season in the middle game, he homered twice, including the go-ahead home run in the fourth inning and solo home run in the sixth inning, and became the first Auburn player to homer in consecutive at-bats this season.

With the series tied, 1-1, McCraine homered and drove in three runs for the second straight day in the series-clinching finale at Florida. He hit a two-out RBI single to cut Auburn’s deficit to one in the fifth inning and capped off Auburn’s five-run ninth inning that broke a 3-3 tie with his second two-run homer of the series.

McCraine has a hit in six straight games and has driven in a run in four straight. He is tied for the team lead with 30 RBI in 26 games played and ranks tied for second with 11 RBI in 12 league games.

McCraine and the No. 6 Tigers (27-12, 10-8 SEC) wrap up a four-game road swing vs. Samford (20-18, 8-4 SoCon) Tuesday at the Hoover Met before hosting No. 9 Oklahoma (27-12, 10-8 SEC) this weekend.
