CARLSBAD, Calif. – The 2025-26 season came to a close for No. 6 Auburn women’s golf on Sunday following the third round of the NCAA Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa Champions Course in Carlsbad, California. The Tigers carded a final round of 5-over 293 to finish the event 17-over (881) and in 21st place. The finish leaves Auburn outside of the 15-team cut that occurs after 54 holes of stroke play.
“A record-setting season built on grit and growth, even if the ending wasn’t what we envisioned,” Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. “Day one tested us, but this team never stopped fighting. The lessons learned here will fuel the return. While it’s hard to say goodbye to Katie (Cranston) and Carys (Worby), their impact goes far beyond scores. They leave as remarkable people, and their futures are bright.”
In her final collegiate tournament, redshirt senior Carys Worby had the highest individual finish of any Auburn player at 3-over for the championship. After starting her round 3-over through eight holes, Worby recorded back-to-back birdies on Nos. 18 and 1 before finishing with a 2-over 74. Worby finished the event tied for 51st place on the individual leaderboard.
Auburn sophomore Molly Brown Davidson had her best performance of the tournament in round three, posting a 1-under 71 with two birdies. Davidson finished the event at 9-over and tied for 110th individually.
Auburn freshman Charlotte Cantonis bounced back from a round of 4-over in round two with a third-round 73 (+1). Cantonis’ round was highlighted by two consecutive birdies on Nos. 13 and 14, and she finished the championship tied for 83rd place at 6-over. Auburn junior Anna Davis matched her teammate with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6) after shooting a 4-over 76 on Sunday.
Balma Dávalos provided Auburn with its final counting score in round three, a 3-over 75 that included three birdies.
The 2025-26 campaign was a historic season for the Tigers, as the team set a new record for most tournament victories in a season with six, including the NCAA Simpsonville Regional. Additionally, Auburn finished the 2026 SEC Championship as a finalist and earned the program’s 22nd trip to the NCAA Championship. The Tigers have remained a top-10 team in the nation according to the Clippd team rankings since Oct. 22 and are currently ranked No. 6.
On top of the team success, Auburn saw four individual tournament wins. Davis won low medalist honors at the Tar Heel Invitational, the Nanea Invitational and the NCAA Simpsonville Regional, while Katie Cranston took home the individual crown at the UCF Challenge.
The top 15 teams and nine individuals not on advancing teams will play the final round of stroke play at the NCAA Championship Monday. The top eight teams after 72 holes will advance to match play, which will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
