AUBURN, Ala. – Alumni, current and future members of the Auburn equestrian team saw a wealth of individual success at the annual Devon Horse Show held May 20-31 in Devon Pennsylvania.
Alum McKayla Langmeier (2019-21) had a big week at the national meet. She was winner of the $32,000 Devon Welcome Stake and the $32,000 Main Line Challenge – Two Phase. In addition, she finished second in the $210,000 Saphire Grand Prix and third in the $32,000 Devon Speed Derby.
Overall, Langmeier was the Devon Horse Show leading Open Rider, Leading Lady Rider and Reserve Champion Open Jumper.
Junior Ariana Marnell was a big winner as well in the amateur category.
The Las Vegas product and recent All-American was a winner in the $20,000 SJHF 1.45m Amateur Jumper Classic, the $3,750 1.40m Amateur Jumper and the $3,750 1.40m Amateur Jumper Speed. Marnell was also named Champion Amateur Owner Jumper Champion and Devon Horse Show Leading Amateur Owner Jumper Rider.
Incoming freshmen Parker Peacock, Rylynn Conway, Brooke Hagerty and Taylor Cawley all had successful showings in Pennsylvania.
Peacock was winner of the WIHS, USET and Maclay and finished second in USEF Medal. She was also winner of the R.W. Mutch Equitation Championship Award. Finally, Peacock took fifth in the $20,000 SJHF 1.45m Junior Jumper Classic.
Conway had four top 10 finishes at the national show, including a seventh-place finish in the $20,000 SJHF 1.45m Junior Jumper Classic. She took third in WIHS, fourth in Maclay and USET and sixth in USEF Medal.
Hagerty, who will join her older sister Kate Hagerty this fall, put together three top 10 placements at Devon. She took eighth in WIHS, fourth in USEF Medal and sixth in Maclay.
Finally, Cawley was seventh in the $3,750 1.40m Junior Jumper in Pennsylvania.
