AUBURN, Ala. – Unbeaten Auburn Soccer will honor its seniors on Sunday night as the Tigers host Georgia State with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.
Before the game, Auburn will recognize the following eight seniors: Hannah Bell, Jordyn Crosby, Emily Edwards, Fizz Hutton, Grace Ivey, Ellie Rebmann, Jenna Sapong and Tahirah Turnage-Morales.
One of nine teams nationally and the only team in the SEC yet to allow a goal this season, Auburn (3-0-1) recorded its fourth-straight clean sheet last Thursday in a 4-0 win over Kennesaw State on the road.
Junior Ava Caldwell tallied her first career brace, scoring a goal in the 51st minute and a penalty kick in the 87th minute.
“Ava’s first goal was massive,” head coach James Armstrong said. “To get it when we got it was really important and the penalty at the end was the icing on the cake.
“The defense has been great but the repress from the front has been just as important. We did not give them a lot of time once they won the ball, we tried to regain it straight away. That is a big part of our success so far.”
In its most recent match, Georgia State (2-2) defeated Wofford 3-0 last Sunday at home, securing an early led on Aaliyah Faddoul’s goal in the fourth minute. Faddoul scored again in the eighth minute and currently ranks third nationally with six total goals on the season.
Sunday’s game will mark the fifth matchup in program history between Auburn and Georgia State. The Tigers hold a 4-0 record against the Panthers dating back to 1994. In their most recent matchup in 2012, the Tigers earned a 1-0 victory against the Panthers with a late goal in the 78th minute for a 1-0 victory.
The game will be streamed on SEC Network+, while radio coverage will be available on WEGL 91.1 and via streaming at AuburnTigers.com. Live stats will also be available by clicking here.
